Malta Blue Card, Europe. European Citizenship.

Malta offers two routes for international families. One leads to European Union citizenship, the other to indefinite permanent residency — both with outstanding benefits. The citizenship route covers four generations and all future generations; the residence route brings spouse, children, parents and grandparents onto a single application. Both give your family access to Malta's highly ranked healthcare and education systems. Malta is a rich country, a developed financial center, with advanced infrastructure, English as an official language, and over 300 days of sunshine a year.

Requirements for citizenship (Citizenship by Merit)

• Make an exceptional contribution of 1,000,000 EUR to the Government of Malta, aligned with the ENVISION 2050 national priorities

• Build a genuine link to Malta through property, approved contributions or long-term engagement, including a period of legal residence

• Clean international background, verifiable source of wealth, strong reputation

Requirements for permanent residence (MPRP)

​

• Pay a 60,000 EUR administrative fee (15,000 EUR at submission, the balance after approval in principle), plus 7,500 EUR for each adult dependant

• Pay a 37,000 EUR government contribution

• Rent property for 14,000 EUR per annum

• Buy property from 375,000 EUR — either held for 5 years

• Donate a minimum of 2,000 EUR to a registered Maltese charitable organisation

• A one-year temporary residence permit is now available while your file is processed
